Pay through the Nose

¡Puaj!

¡Ustedes me avisan! Mientras tanto, veamos ejemplos.

1) A: You live in Brooklyn. Don't you want to live in Manhattan?
Vos vivís en Brooklyn. ¿No querés vivir en Manhattan?
B: Sure! But you have to pay through the nose to live there!

2) A: Nice car!
         ¡Qué lindo auto!
B: Yeah. I had to pay through the nose for it, but it's worth every penny. We're very happy with it.

3) A: That's a great computer you have there!
         ¡Tenés una computadora muy buena!
B: Not so great though! I paid through the nose for it and it broke down a week afterwards...
¡No tan buena! La pagué un ojo de la cara y se rompió a la semana...

Have you ever paid through your nose (for something)?
